The Newport News Council of PTAs would like to recognize school staff people who have stood out among
the rest for their hard work and dedication to improving the quality of life of children. To accomplish
this, we need your help. We suggest that you consult the PTA President, teacher or staff representative,
and PTA volunteers when preparing the application.
To submit a nomination for a school staff person for this award, your PTA local unit must be in good
standing according to the Newport News Council of PTAs. (The criteria can be located here:
Good Standing Status
To be eligible for this award, your school staff person of the year nominee must be a member of their
local unit's PTA and support PTA projects and functions. Any school staff person is eligible
We encourage all local units to participate. All applications must be received by March 1, 2008. The
award will be presented at the May General Membership Meeting. Please send two (2) copies of the completed
application by mail to the volunteer chairperson indicated on the form. Additionally, you may contact them at
